Someone in Your Corner

Sometimes you don’t need another appointment. You just need someone who gets it.

Living with chronic illness can affect just about everything. Your energy. Your relationships. Your independence. Your plans. Even how you see yourself.

And sometimes you just need a place to say, “This is what I’m dealing with. How do I figure this out?”

That’s what Someone in Your Corner is for.

It’s personal email support from me, based on my own lived experience with chronic illness and everything that comes with trying to build a good life around a body that doesn’t always cooperate.

No Zoom calls. No appointment you have to feel well enough for. No pressure to be “on.”

You write when you have the energy. I’ll read it, think about what you’ve shared, and write back personally.

Why email?

Chronic illness doesn’t care what’s on the calendar.

Some days you may have plenty to say but not enough energy for a conversation. Other days you might need time to figure out what you’re even feeling.

Email gives you that space.

You can write when you’re ready. Read my response when you have the energy. Come back to it later if you need to.

No scheduled calls. No rushing. No having to be “on.”

What can we talk about?

Whatever part of chronic illness life feels heavy, frustrating, confusing, or just plain hard right now.

Things like:

  • Pacing when your energy is limited
  • Feeling guilty about resting
  • Asking for help
  • Losing some of your independence
  • Adjusting to what your body can do now
  • Feeling misunderstood by people around you
  • Relationships and chronic illness
  • Finding purpose when life looks different
  • Creating routines that work with unpredictable health
  • Finding ways to make everyday life a little easier

You don’t need to have the perfect question.

You can just tell me what’s going on.

What happens when you email me?

I’m not going to send you a canned response or tell you to “just stay positive.”

I’ll read what you actually wrote and respond to you.

Sometimes that might mean helping you think through a problem. Sometimes it might be sharing something I’ve learned from my own experience. And sometimes it might simply be saying, “Yep. I get why this is hard.”

This isn’t about fixing you or having all the answers.

It’s about having someone in your corner who understands this life.

A little about me

I’m Laura, the person behind The Good Life Vibe.

I live with chronic illness too, so I know what it’s like when your life starts looking very different from the one you thought you’d be living.

I know the frustration of needing help. The guilt that can come with resting. The plans that change. The days when you’re trying to figure out how to still have a good life when your body keeps changing the rules.

I don’t have all the answers, and I won’t pretend I do.

But I’ve learned a lot from living this life, and sometimes having someone who understands makes it feel a little less lonely.

That’s why I created Someone in Your Corner.

A few important things

Someone in Your Corner is peer support based on my own lived experience with chronic illness.

I’m not a doctor, therapist, or licensed healthcare professional. I can’t provide medical advice, diagnose conditions, recommend medications or treatments, or provide therapy or crisis support.

I usually respond within 2–3 business days. Because I live with chronic illness too, there may occasionally be a time when a flare slows me down. If that happens, I’ll respond as soon as I reasonably can.

Regular email isn’t a secure medical or therapy platform, so please don’t send medical records or other highly sensitive personal information.

If you’re experiencing a medical or mental health emergency, please contact an appropriate healthcare professional or emergency service.

You don’t have to have it all figured out.

Maybe you need help thinking through something specific. Maybe you’re in a season where you could use a little more support.

Either way, you don’t have to explain it perfectly.

Just start where you are.

Choose the option that feels right for you, and I’ll meet you there.
