The Good Life Challenge: 31 Days to Build a Life You Love
It's the beginning of a new month and for some reason, the start of a new month always feels like a chance to begin again.
Maybe last month was amazing. Maybe it was hard. Maybe it was somewhere in between.
Either way, today is a brand new page.
Lately, I've realized I've spent a lot of time waiting.
Waiting until I felt better.
Waiting until we had a little more money.
Waiting until life calmed down.
Waiting until I had more energy.
Waiting until everything lined up just right.
The truth is...life doesn't usually work that way.
The calendar keeps turning.
Our kids grow up.
Our pets get older.
Our hair gets a little grayer.
And before we know it, another season has passed.
That doesn't mean we stop dreaming. It just means maybe we stop waiting for the "perfect" time to enjoy our lives.
As many of you know, I've lived with health challenges for most of my adult life, and over the past few years those challenges have changed what my everyday life looks like. I used to think I'd get through this flare, bounce back, and life would return to normal.
Instead, I had to learn something I never expected.
Sometimes we don't build a good life after the hard season.
Sometimes we build it right in the middle of it.
That's where this challenge came from.
Not because I have everything figured out.
But because I want to be intentional about creating a life that feels peaceful, meaningful, and full of little moments worth remembering.
Welcome to The Good Life Challenge

For the next 31 days, I want to focus on simple habits that help build a life we actually enjoy.
Not perfect habits.
Not overwhelming goals.
Just small things we can do every day.
Every Morning
Before you grab your phone or get pulled into the busyness of the day, take a few quiet minutes.
Write down:
- Three things you're grateful for.
- One thing you're looking forward to today.
- One small step you can take toward the life you want.
- One way you'll be kind to yourself today.
These don't have to be life-changing answers.
Sometimes gratitude looks like hot coffee.
A text from a friend.
A cat curled up beside you.
Sunshine through the window.
A good night's sleep.
The little things matter.
Throughout the Day
Choose one action that makes Future You smile.
Maybe that's:
- Decluttering one drawer.
- Saving a few dollars.
- Reading ten pages of a good book.
- Drinking more water.
- Spending time outside.
- Taking a short walk if your body allows.
- Calling someone you love.
- Working on a project you've been putting off.
One choice.
Every day.
That's how change happens.
Every Evening
Before bed, grab your journal again.
Write down:
- Three wins from today.
- One lesson you learned.
- One thing you're excited about tomorrow.
It's easy to focus on everything that didn't get done.
This helps us notice everything that did.
Or, if it's easier, just download one of these coloring pages at the bottom of this blog post and color it in each day. Sometimes less is more!
A Few Things That Make This Challenge Easier
You don't need anything fancy, but I've found that having a few favorite things nearby makes me much more likely to stick with a new routine.
A pretty journal you'll actually want to write in.
A smooth pen that makes journaling enjoyable.
Highlighters if you like color-coding your thoughts or goals.
A cozy blanket for quiet morning reading.
A favorite mug that turns an ordinary cup of coffee or tea into a little ritual.
Sometimes creating a good life isn't about big changes.
Sometimes it's about making ordinary moments feel a little more special.
Let's Do This Together
I'm starting today.
Not because it's the perfect time.
Not because everything in my life is exactly how I want it to be.
But because today is the day I have.
If you'd like to join me, I'd love to have you.
Here's to finding joy in the little things, celebrating small wins, and building a good life, one day at a time.
Let's make it a good one. ❤️
In this together,
Laura
