Week 1: Slow Living for Chronically Ill People
Living with a chronic illness (or more than one) often means that life needs to move at a different pace than what we're used to. The days of being the achievement-driven individual can often feel overwhelming and unsustainable because trying to keep up with that "person" is often unrealistic when you're sick. That’s where slow living comes in and it's something that I've begun to implement in my life as I learn to embrace where I am at with my own illnesses.
So, what is slow living, and how can it help?
Slow living is about simplifying your life, focusing on what matters most, and respecting the boundaries that you set for yourself. For those with chronic conditions, it’s a way to manage energy, reduce stress, and make space for rest and joy so that you feel more empowered and content with where you are at in your life at that moment.
This is the first blog post in my series about slow living. I'll be sharing practical steps on how to embrace slow living—like creating a calming home and enjoying small, meaningful moments and more. So, stay tuned and bookmark this page or subscribe to our emails. Whether you're new to the idea or want new inspiration, this is for you. Also, please note that you don't have to be chronically ill to live a slow life. Anyone can do it! Are you ready?
In this together!
